My preoccupation with gathering and assembling disparate objects is a lifelong fascination. As a child, I spent countless hours rearranging castoff family antiques. I was inquisitive about my ancestors’ lives. Inspired by the drama of these stories, I used my scavenged articles to create my own tableaux of fantasy and dread.

Piano music was another staple of my childhood. My bedroom shared a wall with the living room and the nightly reverberations of classical music shook my room. A lyrical influence is evident in all of my work. Echoing musical arrangements, my constructions are based on how I envision the tension and harmony between my raw materials and found objects.
